Marquez wants $25M for possible fourth meeting with chief rival Pacquiao
Juan Manuel Marquez's camp has upped the ante for the Mexican to accept a fourth fight with Filipino boxing rival Manny Pacquiao. After Marquez declared that he preferred Mexico to be the venue of a possible May 2012 metting with Pacquiao, here comes his trainer Ignacio 'Nacho' Beristain demanding a sky-rocketing purse for the best Mexican technical fighter today. "$25 million on the table," said Beristain from his famous Romanza boxing gym in Mexico City. Top Rank's Bob Arum, who promotes both Pacquiao and Marquez, signified his intention on his plan to stage a fourth fight between the two boxing rivals in the wake of the Filipino's controversial majority decision win over the Mexican last week in their welterweight title fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Beristain pointed out that the mere fact a fourth fight is being thought about meant that Marquez could have been overlooked as the likely winner the last time.
