MANILA, Philippines - The Pasay City Hall of Justice was disrupted by a bomb scare early Friday, after a court staff received a call from a man purporting himself to be an Abu Sayyaf member claiming a bomb will explode in the building.
The bomb threat, however, turned out to be a hoax after authorities - after a thorough search of the court building - found no bombs.
Radio dzBB's Denver Trinidad reported that the phoned-in threat came at 8:20 a.m., answered by a member of prosecutor Evangeline Francisco's staff.
The staff said the male caller introduced himself as a member of the Abu Sayyaf, and claimed a bomb will explode in the building at 8:30 a.m.
After the call, the staff alerted the Pasay police, which deployed a team from the City Hall detachment.
A bomb squad checked the building but found no bomb inside the building and allowed employees to return to their offices. The explosives and ordnance division continued to have K-9 units prowl the building. - GMANews.TV
