Pacquiao volume of punches too much for De la Hoya to take
MANILA, Philippines - Manny Pacquiao has been advised to use his speed - his primary weapon - to throw off Oscar de la Hoya. Statistically, Pacquiao's strength was just as critical to his overwhelming victory on Sunday. Numbers on ESPN.com showed Pacquiao landed 195 power punches, compared to a measly 51 connected by de la Hoya. Overall, Pacquiao was able to tag De la Hoya with 59 percent (195 of 333) of his power punches. De la Hoya came in at a paltry 31 percent (31 of 164). According to an Associated Press report, De La Hoya absorbed such a beating that he was taken to a hospital afterwards for what was described as a precautionary examination. The loss to Pacquiao was de la Hoya's first via technical knockout. - GMANews.TV
