Singaporean trader killed inside his room in Manila

MANILA, Philippines - A 52-year-old Singaporean businessman was killed inside his home in Manila, a police report said. The police identified the victim as Sam Nathan alias Bath Nathan, a resident of Remedios Street in Malate. He had multiple stab wounds in the body. Detective Dave Tuazon of the Manila Police District-homicide unit said the victim was found dead at 1:40 a.m. inside his room. According to Nocimedus Sullano, a security guard at the victim’s house, the suspects barged inside the premises by jumping from the concrete fence. He said the suspects tied him up to his seat and covered his face with a towel. Joan Sunga, the live-in partner of the victim, said she and the victim were sleeping in their room when a man suddenly came in and covered her face with a pillow. She said she heard other men entering the room and felt her lover struggling beside her. She said she made sure that the suspects were already out of their room before she removed the pillow. She then found her partner lifeless and bloodied on the floor. The police have ruled out robbery as the motive of the killing since no valuable was taken from the victim’s house. Meanwhile, the MPD has already released an artist sketch of one of the suspects, who was described as male, aged 45 to 47 years old, about 5'6" to 5'7" in height, and has a dark complexion. Witnesses said he was wearing a cap at the time of the murder. - GMANews.TV
