DJ Mo denies implicating Rufa Mae in Vicki-Hayden breakup

MANILA, Philippines – Feisty talks show host DJ Mo Twister on Sunday denied implicating actress Rufa Mae Quinto in the controversial breakup of Doctor Vicki Belo and ex-boyfriend Hayden Kho. In an interview with GMA's entertainment show "Showbiz Central," DJ Mo said he was surprised on learning that he had been accused of dragging Quinto’s name in the breakup. "No," DJ Mo said when asked if he implicated Quinto. "That's why dito ako na sho-shock, kasi it's so obvious na yung tinanong ako tungkol kay Hayden at Vicki right before ko binigay yung answer ko. We watched the VTR na si Manay Lolit [Solis] eh sinasabi si Rufa Mae Quinto kasama sa hiwalay sa breakup hindi lang Katrina," he said. He further explained that it was Solis who said Quinto was one of the girls involved in the Hayden-Vicki split up. "It was very clear when Lolit said it," he said. "Tapos sa mga column niya in tabloids she writes Rufa Mae there. So I don't know why na sho-shock si Rufa Mae na sinasabi ako raw ang kumakalat when it's so obvious on TV on print it's not me. I don't have a tabloid." Last week, the two "Showbiz Central" hosts were expected to have a face-off amid the rumor when DJ Mo failed to show up because of troubles he encountered in the airport from Hong Kong. Quinto was forced to face the cameras alone, during which she became very emotional as she denied talk that she was behind the Vicki-Hayden breakup. Mo said he did not bother to text or phone Quinto to explain his side as he found it inappropriate. "I'm not that type na mag te-text o tumawag," he said. "I wanted to see Rufa Mae kasi ang friendship namin ni Rufa Mae is something that hindi mo dinadaan sa text or phone call. We all saw how hurt she was nung makipag break yung boyfriend niya over the email. I think things should be done in personal. She's delicate as you saw." Asked where and how rumors started, Mo explained: "I think dahil ang daming taong nag tatanong sa akin: 'Ano ba talaga nangyari kay Hayden and Vicki? Sino ba yung mga girls? We want names. Kasama ba si Rufa Mae?' And my answer's the same: 'This is what is says on TV, this is what it says on tabloid. Kasama daw si Rufa Mae, kasama daw si Katrina, kasama daw yung ibang girls'." in the interview, Mo also emphasized that he would never apologize to Quinto as he never wronged her. "No, I will not apologize because I didn't do anything wrong." "What I’m saying lang is there is a reason why you're [Quinto] name is being thrown into this whole thing and the reason is not me," he said. Quinto and Mo, however, were able to resolve their misunderstanding, both agreeing that theirs was simply a case of miscommunication. - Aie Balagtas See, GMANews.TV
