Tams edge La Salle in Summer League

MANILA, Philippines – Ryan Roose Garcia hit the game-winner as Far Eastern edged La Salle, 66-65, on Monday in the Nike Summer League at the FEU gym. Recovering the ball from a scramble, Garcia scored the marginal basket with four ticks left then the Tams foiled the inbounds of the Archers on the other end to seal the win. FEU thus completed a sweep of Seniors-C and advanced into the quarterfinals against Perpetual Help on June 4. Reil Cervantes showed the way for the Tams with 12 points and five rebounds while JR Cawaling added 11 points and Mark Barroca had 10 points, six rebounds, and six assists. Bader Malabes spearheaded the Archers with 19 points as Peejay Barua pumped in 13 points and Kish Co posted a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds. In the other game, Lyceum-Manila routed Universidad de Manila, 81-64, to force a triple tie with DLSU and Mapua. –GMANews.TV
