Google pays tribute to John Lennon

Starting Friday (Manila time), search giant Google paid tribute to the late English singer-songwriter John Lennon by making a Google Doodle of him on his 70th birth anniversary. Google's home page, including that in the Philippines, featured a doodle of Lennon, who would have turned 70 on Oct. 9.

The search giant particularly paid homage to Lennon's hit composition "Imagine," expressing his belief in "one country," one world and one people. Clicking on the doodle image will open a YouTube video that plays the song "Imagine." Lennon, born on Oct. 9, 1940, was one of the founding members of The Beatles.
