Weather: NCR, 27 other areas under Signal 1
Metro Manila and 27 other areas in Luzon were placed under Storm Signal No. 1 as Tropical Storm Juaning (international code name: Nock-Ten) remained a threat to the Quezon-Aurora area, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said. In its 11 a.m. Tuesday advisory, PAGASA also said at least six areas were placed under Storm Signal No. 2 due to Juaning. As of 10 a.m., PAGASA said Juaning was estimated at 100 km northeast of Daet, Camarines Norte, packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph. Juaning was moving west northwest at 19 kph and is expected to be 60 km west of Dagupan City Wednesday morning; and 380 km west-northwest of Laoag City Thursday morning. A separate report on dzBB radio said PAGASA’s models indicate Juaning may make landfall Tuesday night and cross Central Luzon.
