‘Juaning’ strands 1,600; roads in CAR, C. Luzon impassable
At least 1,600 passengers were stranded while several major roads in Cordillera and Central Luzon were rendered impassable due to rains and floods brought by Tropical Storm Juaning (Hock-Ten). The Philippine Coast Guard said the 1,600 included 1,037 in Southern Luzon; 541 in Bicol; and 22 in Aparri in Northern Luzon. In its noon update, the Coast Guard also said Juaning also stranded 10 trucks, 12 cars, seven buses, 188 rolling cargos, 14 vessels, and 15 motor bancas.
