Pro-Panlilio village chief shot dead in Pampanga


Mario Nulud A barangay captain who campaigned for Pampanga Governor-elect Fr. Eddie Panlilio was shot dead Monday morning in front of his house, a radio report said. The victim was identified as Mario Nulud, 47. The dzBB report said that he was shot dead by two men, who later fled on board a Honda motorcycle, around 9 a.m. in San Juan, Betis, Pampanga. He was declared dead 30 minutes later at the Diosado Macapagal Provincial Hospital. Nulud had actively campaigned for Panlilio who ran against the wife of suspected gambling lord Rodolfo "Bong" Pineda, Lilia Pineda, and Mark Lapid, the outgoing governor who ran for reelection. Earlier reports said that before the killing of Nulud, two other Pampanga village officials were killed last week following the elections.
