P3-M reward up for info on Glorietta blast suspects

A reward of at least P3 million awaits anyone who can give information leading to the perpetrators of Friday’s deadly bombing at Glorietta mall in Makati City, which claimed the lives of at least nine people, and hurt more than a hundred others. QTV on Saturday reported that Metro Manila police chief Dir. Geary Barias made the announcement after a command conference attended by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo at the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City. “The President has announced there will be a reward of P2 million for anybody who can give us info on the suspects in this incident that happened in Makati," Barias said. The QTV report said the Makati City government also offered a separate P1-million reward for information leading to the perpetrators. Earlier, Ronaldo Puno, interior secretary and presidential political adviser, said the police and military were considering the reward to encourage citizens to help identify the perpetrators. “The PNP and the AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines) have this regular procedure. They are now assessing the situation for submission to defense secretary and myself," he said during the command conference. As this developed, QTV said rescue operations continued at the Glorietta 2 area, but rescue workers noted a “high level of toxicity" at ground zero. Authorities also placed a white sheet over the ground-zero area to discourage kibitzers from gathering in the area. - GMANews.TV
